Research Analyst

Our Company

Lombardo Consulting Group is a boutique public opinion research and strategic communications consulting firm based in Washington, DC.  In addition to our work for political candidates and party committees, we specialize in corporate affairs (reputation management) and public policy research.  Our clients include a number of the world’s most prominent companies and interest groups.

The Position

We currently have an opening for a research analyst. The candidate chosen for this position will work with senior analysts and company principals to direct and analyze qualitative and quantitative research and assist in managing multiple projects on a variety of corporate and public policy issues.  As an analyst, responsibilities will include helping to execute all phases of projects including overall project management, client and vendor interaction, questionnaire development and preparation of written reports and presentation graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and manage quantitative and qualitative research studies
  • Develop appropriate focus group or survey design/methodology
  • Help design and field questionnaires and discussion guides
  • Ensure data quality
  • Analyze data & develop written reports and presentations
  • Assist in presenting results

Qualifications

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual who has a keen interest in developing their public opinion research and strategic communications career.  Although a background in statistics or marketing is not a prerequisite, candidates should be familiar with these disciplines and have a strong interest in the subject matter.  The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or someone with less than two years work experience in a related field.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter capable of working independently
  • Strong computer skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid client interaction skills
  • Experience with data analysis (SPSS, Stata) or visualization (R, Tableau) software is an advantage but not required
  • Experience with graphic or web design is also preferred but not required
